Raymond Felton. Over the last few games, he has been getting a good amount of minutes playing the 2 (SG) with Kareem Rush out and backing up Brevin Knight at times. Most importantly, the Bobcats have been winning with this lineup. Previously, he was scrounging for minutes as Knight's backup and only had value when Knight get injured. If he is allowed to continue to play the 2, he will have permanent value, at least until Rush comes back.

The best news here in the short term is for Brevin Knight owners. Knight will get more minutes as a result of Felton playing the 2.

Victor Khryapa. This is a little bit early and it is the Trailblazers but it is worth mentioning Khryapa so you can keep an eye on him. Being from Russia and playing SF, he reminds me alot of Kirilenko from 3-4 years ago. That was before AK-47 got substantial minutes but was performing extremely well on a per minute basis. Khryapa will not be close to AK this season but he does not need to be for him to be a solid contributor. The odds, however, are against him in Portland. They have five SFs and he is not going to get consistent minutes until Portland 1) trades away a few SFs (including Patterson and Miles) and 2) decides on a set rotation. For now, keep him on your watch list.

Rapid fire ...

Derek Fisher is worth a look. Check out his stats recently. He has been hot and you should pick him up if he is available and ride him.

While we're on Golden State....never, and I mean never pick up Mike Dunleavy. He teases with a few good games once in a while but has always returned to sub-mediocrity.

Chris Kaman. He's probably been picked up already but just in case, pick him up. He's not great but he is a center.

Iguodala. If you can trade for him on the cheap, do it.

Earl Watson and Speedy Claxton. Not a pickup right now but they are always on my radar in case their team's starting PG gets injured. Watson may have some short term value as Boykins is injured.

Al Jefferson looks like that he is finally heating up. The Celtics have every intention to give Jefferson more minutes and eventually the starting PF slot. Doc Rivers recently said that he wanted to give Jefferson more minutes but wants Jefferson to earn it. If given the minutes, Jefferson becomes a pretty good PF with strengths in FG%, Rebs, and Blks. He will hurt you in FT% and is weak in Asts and Stls.

Sarunas Jasikevicius. I have been dying to pick him up ever since word of Tinsley going down came out. With Tinsley as the starter, Jasikevicius doesn't have much value but with Tinsley out, those extra minutes translate very well into increased production. On a per minute basis, he excels in 3s and steals. His assists are a little weak for a PG but his percentages (FG% and FT%) are great. I picked him up in my leagues where I had room (and started him) but could not pick him up in my money leagues, where I am stacked. If you have a spot on your roster, pick him up and keep updated on news of Tinsley.

Ike Diogu. Keep an eye out for this guy. For those that know the college game, you already are. There always seem to be someone in every league that picks up the college stars, hoping that they will bloom as a rookie. I've got a guy that has Villanueva, Diogu, and May on his bench. Just in case that you do not suffer in a college fetish league, keep an eye on Diogu. He has the skills down low, which means that he will be the best post player for the Warriors. A. Foyle, the current starter at center doesn't have a half a move. He is a backup center at best, regardless of the contract that Mullen gave him. Oh, he doesn't rebound well either. Murphy, the starter at PF is a decent player, but spends more time on the perimeter than in the post. The other Warriors 4 and 5s are useless. Diogu has a good chance of surplanting Foyle as the season progresses. Even if he does not, he has the potential of getting 25-30 minutes between the 4 and 5. While I would not start him unless he gets at least 30 minutes consistently, I would grab him by the time he gets 25 and stash him on the bench if you have room.

Luther Head and Salim Stoudamire should be picked up in all leagues.

Luther Head lands in the pickup list because he is playing an insane amount of minutes for the Rockets. With Alston and Sura out, Head is the only PG in Houston and unless Charlie Ward comes out of retirement, he will continue to get the minutes until Alston returns. Also notable is the injury to TMac, who is day-to-day with a back sprain. With TMax out, the Rocket guards are getting a lot more shots. Don't get me wrong. If Alston and Tmac returns, Head is useless but while they are out, Head will get you a ton of 3s.

Stoudamire should have been picked up already since he has been hot. He has gotten a good amount of minutes for the Hawks because of his dead eye shooting. His current value is very similar to Head's. I think that Stoudamire has a little more value long term because he plays for the Hawks, which does not have a locked in PG. Known in college as a long distance bomber, Stoudamire's value will depend largely on the number of 3s that he hits. Hopefully that will be a lot.

Miller is ok so scratch the last post. A pair of rookie PGs are in my watch list. Deron Williams and Raymond Felton. Williams has been hot and cold and most recently caught fire in his last game so the chances are that he has been snatched up. Felton plays backup to Brevin Knight and all has had some good games and bad games. The thing is that both guys are not guaranteed minutes. Williams plays for the Jazz in Sloan's system, which is a mess. Felton plays behing Knight, who is a pretty good PG, despite the lack of hype. If you have an empty slot which is currently filled by a scrub, you can populate it with either PG when they are dropped.
